Starting off from the Maison des Etangs, head toward the church, take the first road to the left (D63) toward Vernou-en-Sologne. You go past the site of Favelle (château and pond), 6 km (3.75 miles) from the starting point, take the C6 road toward Marcilly-en-Gault. You can see the ponds of Marcilly, Le Briou, Bièvre, La Gravelle and Chantemerle. At the crossroads with the D21 road, turn left toward Marcilly-en-Gault where you can see the church and old houses. Head toward St Viâtre (D49), and see the ponds of La Madeleine, Le Theillay and, before coming to St Viâtre, you can stop at a little parking area for a walk to Les Brosses Pond (approximately 1 km - 0.6 miles). Return to St Viâtre where you can visit the church with its galleries (caquetoir), its crypt, its famous polyptych, etc., the "chafaud" (15th-century alter of repose), the Maison des Etangs (museum of the ponds of the Sologne region), and see the old houses with wooden wall sections.
